The Cotswold Cottage at 1134 West Culver is one of the most recognizable homes in the F.Q. Story neighborhood.
Prior to settling in Story, Frank B. Wallace, architect and builder, was responsible for platting the Villa Verde neighborhood. The home on Culver was built by Wallace, specifically for him and his wife. Built with Arizona native rock and a thatched roof effect, the cottage brought an "old world" style to the increasingly flourishing area. This remained the family home until Wallace volunteered to re-enlist in the Army at age 52, after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
Now the home of Jim and Luz Aten, the Storybook home is constantly on display, decorating it for most all holidays. With the front view something to be admired, the back yard is just as spectacular.
