As with any old house project, you never know what you will discover when you start opening things up.
In this project, when the tall mirror was removed, we found treasure! A newspaper dated just one month before the first homeowner closed on the home.

The weights were exactly where they were supposed to be.
and we found another set. I never knew that the top windows also moved up and down!
All the cords were replaced.
The beginning of the construction.
Construction progress of stripping old paint and staining. There were about eight different paint colors, the first one being white.
The perfect opportunity to clean up the cabinet doors, drawers, and drawer guides with a few repairs.
The hinges were also stripped back to their original brass look.
The newspaper was returned to its original location. Also included is the neighborhood StoryTime newsletter and the Phoenix NewTimes edition article on the F.Q. Story Centennial year.
